I wanted to put my skills to the test and develop a project for auto racers running mechanical fuel injection. I developed an online jetting calculator that uses weather data from DarkSky along with user-provided data to determine the best tune-up for a car at the track.
The site is built in WordPress but with extensive customization specific to the application. One of the largest undertakings of this project was customizing the s2member plugin to this particular project. s2member is a robust plugin that uses many hooks into the WordPress core. Other work includes custom template files that use WordPress functions to interact with the databse in order to access user-provided engine data.
I built this site from scratch and have managed every detail of it’s development from back-end coding to marketing and customer service. Currently I write technical articles in publications including EngineLabs and Dragzine and work on promoting the site in the auto racing world.
